Open Rehearsal Hours: Rehearsal and Studio Space for Performing Arts
The Strand Center for the Arts, home to the historic, Vaudeville era Strand Center Theatre and a brand new Music Studio in the adjacent Arts Center, is proud to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for artists and organizations looking to participate in our 'Open Rehearsal Hours' project. This project will enhance our ability to provide accessible rehearsal space for artists working in music and performance art.
Strand Center for the Arts has been renting our studio spaces for artists for the past 20 years. Our current access rate for the Music Studio is $10/hr. For this subsidized program we are offering it for 50% off at $5/hr. Our current space rental rates for rehearsal space in the Theatre is $100/hr which does not include any technical needs. For this subsidized program we are offering it for $10/hr which is a significant discount allowing for greater accessibility to a world-class theatre.
Policies & Procedures
No single artistic entity may exceed more than 10% of the subsidized hours. (This includes groups and organizations.)
Subsidized hours are for creative rehearsal time only and excludes auditions, classes, workshops, and showings.
While normally the use of our Music Studio is reserved for our members and students only, our Open Rehearsal Hours project is open to everyone.
To book time in our Theatre or Music Studio through the Open Rehearsal Hours project the Scheduling Request Form on this page is required. Do not use our Member Reservations page.
