"Founded by Kiwanis Club member Kimberly Davis, this is the third annual Stuff the Strand drive. Food pantry collection has exceeded goals set each year, and Davis hopes they will have a repeat performance in 2024.

'It continues to grow every year,' she said. 'The first year we hoped for two pounds for each seat, and we got three. Last year we raised it to four and received six pounds per seat. So this year we set the goal at seven pounds. That would be 6,307 pounds of non-perishable food and baby items for the JCEO Food Services Programs and the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Pantry.'

Three-plus tons of non-perishables would go a long way to help feed people who need supplemental food supplies this winter.

The official drop-off date is set for Oct. 11 at the Strand Center for the Arts, 25 Brinkerhoff Street from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m."
