From Life: The Classical Art of Figure Drawing Exhibition 2022

“From Life: The Classical Art of Figure Drawing” was an interactive exhibition presented by the Strand Life Drawing Group. The opening reception for this took place during First Friday Plattsburgh and had a live model.

Throughout the month of October, the Strand held three free Community Figure Drawings Nights with an instructor and draped live model every Friday, 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Participants were asked to bring their own pads and pencils.

The final evening of this exhibition, November 4th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, featured a live performance by our Modern Dance students led by instructor Jessica Bouharevich in response to the figure drawings on display in the gallery.

“From Life” was co-curated by artists Shaun O'Connell and Cynthia Root and featured the artwork of both O’Connell and Root, along with other artists from the Strand Life Drawing Group.
