Dear Simon Photography Book of Eve Exhibition 2022

Friday, September 2 - Friday, September 30, 2022

The Strand Center for the Arts hosted “The Book of Eve”, artwork created by Dear Simon Photography, in the Main Gallery.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, KT developed an appreciation for beauty and gritty reality among urban landscapes at a young age. The juxtaposition between a rigid background and a soft, sensitive body helped bring a sense of contrast to her photos and define her view of the world. Moving to a more rural environment opened new avenues of play between the subject and landscape. Texture plays a central role in many of her pieces. The human form, including its shape and lines, is often accentuated amidst a background of patterns and shapes. Another beloved feature that is often portrayed is shadow and light, allowing subjects to appear subdued or highlighted depending on the mood evoked during the photography session. Quiet moments in an organic setting or motion caught in a precise scene are equally important subjects that define KT and her artistic taste. KT lives in Plattsburgh, NY with her family, three cats, and an ever-growing indoor jungle.
